The Ellwood House Museum tells the story of Isaac Ellwood’s pivotal role in America’s barbed wire industry. This grand estate showcases innovation, wealth, and influence during the Gilded Age in Illinois.
Situated on a ten-acre estate, the Ellwood House Museum and Park features grassy lawns, a wooded area, formal gardens, two native garden areas, and the Berg Garden. The gardens and grounds are open dawn to dusk and can be investigated seven days a week without a tour guide. As you visit Ellwood House you will be aware of the comfort and quality of workmanship.
